Task management that knows what the task is attached to

Most task tools are a list of sentences. The problem is never the list; it is that the task says "chase the Henderson delivery" and nothing connects it to the Henderson delivery. Here a board belongs to the thing it is about — a job, an order, a customer — so the work and the record are one click apart rather than one memory apart.

Boards in stages or in sections — your choice per board

A board runs as stages (work moves left to right and the column means progress) or as sections (columns are just grouping). Picking the wrong one is why most boards die, so it is a setting, not a philosophy.

  • Stages when the columns mean progress; sections when they only mean grouping
  • Board defaults set once in settings — including whether a new task starts unassigned or on its creator
  • A board hangs off the record it is about, not off a folder of boards

One "assigned to me", across everything

Work reaches people from more than one place — a job checklist, a stage template, a promoted action item from a meeting. My Tasks is the single list that collects all of it.

  • My Tasks is deliberately not gated, so the link works whatever modules a person's team holds
  • Tasks raised by other modules land in the same list as tasks typed by hand
  • Action items promoted out of a meeting land here rather than in someone's notes

An operations cockpit above the boards

Boards are for doing the work. The cockpit is for the layer above it: the work line, the decisions that were made, the precedents they set, and the processes that keep repeating.

  • Work line, projects and processes in one operations surface
  • Decisions and precedents recorded where the next person will look
  • The same task records underneath — not a reporting copy that drifts

What Task management runs on

Hold this on its own, or add the modules beside it when you want them — they share one login and one set of records. See the module library and pricing.

Questions buyers ask

How is this different from a standalone task app?

A standalone task app can only ever hold a sentence about the work. Here the board hangs off the record the work is about — the job, the order, the customer — so opening the task gets you to the thing itself. That is also why checklist progress can show on a job without anyone copying it across.

Can people see everything assigned to them in one place?

Yes — My Tasks collects work from every module, including tasks created by a job checklist or promoted out of a meeting. It is deliberately not module-gated, so the link works for someone whose team holds only one module.

Do we have to run our boards the way you think is right?

No. Each board is either stages (columns mean progress) or sections (columns are only grouping), and the default for new boards is a setting. Forcing a stage model onto work that has no stages is the usual reason a board gets abandoned in a month.

Can we buy just this?

Yes. Projects is a module you can hold on its own, priced per person on the app rather than as a platform licence. Meetings, the org chart and quarterly goals are free, so the free layer is there whether or not you buy anything.
