The job waits on the material, so the material is the plan

Flooring is a purchasing business with an installation attached. The date you can fit is the date the material lands, the margin lives in what you paid for it, and a batch that arrives short stops the job on the morning it was meant to start. So the supplier side is the spine of this page, not an afterthought.

Order against real lead times

A supplier catalogue carries the vendor's SKU, cost and lead time, so the promise you make the customer is based on the supplier's own figure rather than optimism.

  • Per-supplier catalogue with vendor SKU, cost, lead time and packaging
  • Import it from a CSV, Excel or PDF price list, with a review step before anything is written
  • Purchase orders with a real lifecycle — draft is the only editable state

Landed cost, on the receipt

Delivery and handling go onto the receipt rather than being remembered later, so the cost of the material on the floor is the cost in the system.

  • Landed cost captured at receiving
  • Lot tracking, so a batch or dye lot stays identifiable
  • One item catalogue behind purchasing, inventory and the job

Quoted, fitted, and costed honestly

The quote can be signed before the order goes in, the fit is scheduled on the same board as everything else, and the job's cost is materials plus labour with estimates marked as estimates.

  • Documents and e-signature as a module you add
  • Jobs raised, scheduled and reassigned, with a warning on a clash
  • Revenue, cost and margin by customer, job, item or cost centre

Modules Flooring businesses use

Questions operators ask

Can we tie material ordering to the job it is for?

Purchase orders and jobs run over the same item catalogue, and the supplier catalogue carries that supplier's lead time — so what you promise a customer comes off the vendor's figure. There is no per-job material allocation as a distinct feature, and we would rather name that limit than let "ordering" imply it.

Does the cost of delivery end up in the job cost?

Landed cost is captured on the receipt, so delivery and handling sit in the item's cost rather than being added back from memory. That is usually the difference between the margin you quoted and the margin you got.

Can we keep track of batch or dye lots?

Yes, through lot tracking — the same mechanism food and pharma use. A lot stays identifiable through receiving and out to the job, which is what you need when a customer wants matching material two rooms later.

Do you do room measurement or cutting optimisation?

No. There is no measuring, room-plan or cut-optimisation tool, and none is planned as part of this. Measure how you measure today; this is for the quote, the ordering, the schedule and the money.
